Bank holiday weekend
Hi Did you all have a good weekend. the weather was kind, did anything exciting happen, was the wolds run well attended? I took down my 60 year old shed. It was falling down really so i helped it along a bit. I stood on a rusty old nail. It went straight through my shoe and into the arch of my foot. Down to hospital i went to get my Tetnus jab as i couldn't remember the last one i had, it was at least 10 years ago. After waiting an hour i saw a nurse, she dressed the cut and then went to the cupboard for the Tetnus jab. They had run out, then she found out they had run out a few days ago and they hadnt re stocked. The duty manager was called and the emergency cupboard was opened. it was empty. The on call pharmasist was called and he confirmed taht the hospital had run dry of the required drug. A phone call was made and a dose was found in Scunthorpe. A taxi was dispatched from Scunthorpe to Grimsby with the small bottle. I had now been waiting 4 hours and at 7.00pm i was given the required jab, i was told that this was the last jab in all of the authority trust and that if anyone else needs a jab then they would have to start looking further away. I was told their is a shortage of certain drugs because some companies are withholding stocks. Dont cut yourself if you live in North Lincolnshire because i have just had the last bottle. My foot now feels fine and i am covered for another 10 years.

Hi Jim, Sorry to hear about your foot, even more sorry about the sad state off our health service! The wolds run was well attended,as many bikes as last year i think, and the venue was spot on. The run was about 35 miles stopping at the Green Man half way. When we returned the Lancaster was out of the hanger ready to do its taxi run at 1-30pm.A good day was had by all. Cheers Newy.
