Bunn breather During the srvicing of my Electra today, I talked to John about the ' mayonnaise' that can sometimes be found in the Electra breather pipes.
I mentioned the Bunn Breather. Details below for John.

Bunn breather update I emailed Mr Bunn about his system and the 500cc Electra X and got this reply today:-
Dave, thanks for your email. I’ve been busy mapping a new crankcase breathing model and patenting a new racing breather, and have not visited Hitchcocks for some time. You are correct earlier this year we again consulted to Royal Enfield Australia and developed a new breather for the Electra’s special requirements. It does breathe differently to the Classic and de Luxe. That new mkII Bunn Breather kit is now the only Kit supplied to Classic and Electra riders. In April REA and I undertook the Anglo-Australian Electra Trial wherein British and Australian Electra riders road--*test*-('")ed the new mkII Bunn Breather Kit in a variety of terrains, altitudes and seasons. The results were excellent and we know we have a good solution for the Electra’s breathing problems.

Bunn breather MKII I've now ordered the BBK from Panther Publishing on the proviso that it's the MKII.
Will post how it goes.

Bunn breather MKII fitted to Electra X ust got back from Wickenby Aerodrome, an 80 mile round trip. Saw an autogyro take off and land. Great. Never seen one in real life before.
Anyway, the Bunn exhaust pipe threw out a bit of mayonnaise, at first, but was clear on the return journey.
The Bunn input pipe has some oil in it, which I hadn't expected. The 1 way valves are the right way round and the oil is sucked back into the timing case on tickover. I'm going to re-route the inlet pipe so it's more upright so the oil can drain back under gravity.
I didn't exceed 60mph at any time, but I can only imagine that, at certain speeds the 1 way valves can't keep up and oil gets vented from the timing case into the inlet pipe. A
Any comments from Bunn users (or anyone else)?

Re-routed BBK I've moved the inlet on the Bunn Breather so it's more vertical and fastened to the outlet pipe and both go up and over the air filter box. The run today showed no oil in the inlet nor mayonnaise in th outlet pipe. There was a surprising amount of condensation in the outlet pipe, though.
It may be imagination, but I'm sure the motor is pulling harder. It would make sense as the piston is not fighting against pressure/ vacuum in the crankcases.
The 2 1-way valves make some clatter, too.
