Hi,Jim, Thanks for asking about the bike. It's running very well and has travelled 1300 miles since its barrel/head renewal. I'm delighted with it ,but the oil consumption is interesting and I am monitoing it. Firstly,the bike was run in methodically ,starting at steady lowish speeds follwed by short bursts of speeds 5 miles/hour higher ,gradually reaching maximum by this method over 1300 miles.(this is a running in system recommended by an Indian engineer).Out of interest, miles per gallon, plotted from the lowest rumming in speeds up to the 60/65plus end speedswent from 100mpg gradually down to 75mpg.At my general riding speeds of 50+or- 5, I will get 80+ which I got before the overhaul. The oil consumption started at 3000miles per litre ,via 2000/L to 1000 /ltr. I am watching this and trying to see if it's wet sunping. If it is I'll be asking you what you think of Hitchcock's breather/oil filler modification.Anyway Jim, the above diatribe will teach you NOT to ask me how my bike is.... Hi Derek. glad to hear its running ok. On boxing day it is a very informal affair, it doesn't matter what you turn up on realy, people just enjoy the run and a good natter. merry christmas to you and your wife. Jim
