Dear Jim, Yes I did like your JOG story,I think I've read it somewhere else and it is still inspirational.
You did a lot better than me, my inaugural attempt to JOG from Boston ended in disaster.I was on my first Electra and headed up north. All was going well when 220 miles up the road my throttle cable broke. Not impressed with a new bike!`I coasted down hill and stopped at a pub called "THE GUN" !! at Ridsdale on the A68. Needless to say that was end of my attempt.
At least when my 2 clutch cables broke I was nearer Boston. And when the piston circlip went walk about on my second Electra I did manage to get it to Friskneys where they rebuilt the engine under warranty and has done about 4000 miles since. Fingers crossed.Never had this trouble with my Bantam, Douglas Mk 5 or the BSA C15!!
All the best Jim' keep up the good work ,it is appreciated'
